The Big Dentist Marketing Lesson!
What does my exploding hot water heater and your dental marketing have in common? See for yourself, by reading this short story:
Dental Marketing and The Exploding Hot Water Heater:
As I write this, I’m sitting in 2 inches of water. Towels are strewn across my condo. Buckets are trying to mop up the damage. Water is everywhere! Yours truly has a plumbing emergency.
Not sure what’s causing it. But I suspect the problem is coming from the unit next door, because I can’t find a “leak” in my pad. So, being the fast and responsible person that I am…I called the emergency plumbing number. But guess what?
No answer… nada… nilch… nothing!
That’s okay. I’ll call again. And someone is certain to respond to the “emergency” plumbing line – right?
I wish that were the case. Truth is it’s been over 2 hours and I haven’t heard a peep. To say I’m a little “hot” is an understatement. What type of “emergency” plumbing line makes you wait 2 hours? And how can my plumbing emergency help your dental marketing?
It’s simple:
1. Do what you say you are going to do!
Look: your clients are not dumb sheep. So make sure you NEVER insult their intelligence and accidentally treat them this way.
For example:
If your new “drill-less” dentistry is 100% pain free and more comfortable for your patients, then that’d better be true.
If your laser whitening therapy gives the whitest smiles in the least amount of time, then make sure it does that.
If you provide the best re-constructive cosmetic dentistry in town, then make sure you have hundreds… even thousands of pictures to showcase your work!
My point is this: you owe it to your clients (and prospects) to deliver exactly what you say you will.
It’s the right thing to do. It’s good karma. And it is one of the keys to a thriving dental practice, and success with your dental marketing promotions.
